Customer account terms
Last updated: 21 June 2026
1. What a Customer Account gives you
A free account that lets you see all your booking history across every trade business that uses OptiTech Automation, save addresses, manage preferences, and receive booking reminders.
Creating a Customer Account gives you access to the following features at no charge:
- View your complete booking history across all Business Owners (trade businesses) who use the OptiTech Automation platform
- Save delivery and service addresses for faster future bookings
- Manage your communication preferences, including which types of notifications you receive
- Receive booking reminders and job-update notifications from the Business Owners you have booked with
Your Customer Account is a free digital account service. There is no charge to create, maintain, or close a Customer Account. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies to this digital service.
A Customer Account is separate from any individual booking you make. Your booking rights are governed by the Customer Booking Terms at optitechautomation.co.uk/terms/customer, which incorporate the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
2. Creating an account
Register with your email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
To create a Customer Account, you must provide a valid email address and set a password. You must be 18 years of age or older, or have the consent of a parent or guardian if you are under 18.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Do not share your password with anyone. OptiTech Automation will never ask you for your password by email, telephone, or any other channel.
If you suspect that your account has been accessed without your authorisation, you must notify us immediately at hello@optitechautomation.co.uk and change your password. OptiTech Automation is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to keep your credentials secure.
You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating your account. If your details change, please update them in your account settings.
One Customer Account per person. You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their knowledge and consent.
3. Linked to a Trader?
If you have booked with more than one trade business that uses OptiTech Automation, all those bookings appear in one place. Each trade business controls their own data about you.
Your Customer Account may show bookings from multiple Business Owners (trade businesses) who independently use the OptiTech Automation platform. Each Business Owner is separately responsible for the data they hold about you and for the services they have provided to you.
OptiTech Automation connects your bookings to your account using your email address. Where you have booked a service using the same email address with different Business Owners, those bookings are linked to your single account for your convenience.
Each Business Owner is an independent Data Controller for the booking and service data they hold about you. Your data rights in relation to a specific booking must be exercised against the relevant Business Owner. See our Privacy Policy at optitechautomation.co.uk/privacy for a full explanation of the three-party data model.
Business Owners cannot see each other's data about you — they can only see the bookings made through their own platform. OptiTech Automation does not share your data between Business Owners.
4. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time from your account settings. We delete your account data within 30 days. Booking records linked to individual trade businesses are kept separately per their retention obligations.
You may close your Customer Account at any time by going to Account Settings and selecting "Close my account". There are no charges, penalties, or exit fees for closing your account.
When you close your account, OptiTech Automation will delete your account profile data — including your saved name, email address, saved addresses, and communication preferences — within 30 calendar days of your closure request.
Booking records are treated differently from account profile data. Each individual booking is held by the relevant Business Owner (the trade business you booked with). Those booking records may be retained by the Business Owner beyond the date your account is closed, in accordance with their own data retention policy and applicable legal and tax obligations (for example, HMRC requires financial records to be kept for a minimum of 6 years). Closing your Customer Account does not automatically erase booking records held by Business Owners.
To request erasure of a specific booking record, you must contact the relevant Business Owner directly. If you need assistance identifying the correct Business Owner, email privacy@optitechautomation.co.uk and we will assist you.
You may also request a full export of your Customer Account data before closing your account. To request an export, contact privacy@optitechautomation.co.uk. We will provide your export in CSV or JSON format within 5 business days.
5. Suspension and closure by OptiTech Automation
We may suspend or close your account if it is used fraudulently or in violation of these terms or the Booking Terms. We will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
OptiTech Automation may suspend or permanently close your Customer Account if:
- Your account is used in violation of these Account Terms or the Customer Booking Terms at optitechautomation.co.uk/terms/customer
- Your account is used for fraudulent purposes, including but not limited to submitting false booking requests, providing false identity information, or attempting to obtain a refund you are not entitled to
- We are required to do so by applicable law or by an order of a competent court or regulatory authority
- We reasonably suspect that your account has been compromised and we need to act to protect you or other users
Where we suspend or close your account, we will tell you the reason by email to the address registered on your account, unless we are legally prevented from disclosing the reason. If you believe your account has been suspended in error, you may contact hello@optitechautomation.co.uk to raise a dispute.
Where your account is closed by OptiTech Automation for a breach of these terms, you remain responsible for any outstanding amounts owed to Business Owners in respect of bookings you made before closure.
6. Your statutory rights
Your Customer Account is a free digital service. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything in these terms.
Your Customer Account is a digital service supplied free of charge. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (Part 1, Chapter 3), digital services must be provided with reasonable care and skill, they must be as described, and they must be fit for the purpose for which they are supplied.
If the Customer Account service does not conform to these statutory requirements, you have the right to require OptiTech Automation to remedy the non-conformance within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you. If a remedy is not possible or is not provided within a reasonable time, you may request a repeat performance or, where appropriate, compensation.
Because the Customer Account is provided free of charge, no financial remedy applies to the account itself — however, your rights in relation to any paid booking service are governed separately by the Customer Booking Terms and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (as applicable to that paid service).
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts any statutory rights you have as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and UK data protection law.
7. Governing law and general
England and Wales law applies. If any clause is unenforceable, the rest stands.
Governing law: These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You may bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales.
Statutory rights: Nothing in these terms removes or restricts any of your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Severability: If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
Updates: We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before any material change takes effect. If you do not accept an updated term, you may close your account. The version of these terms in force at the time you created your account governs that relationship unless you accept an updated version.
