The Workever alternative where the deposit arrives with the booking

OptiTech Automation vs Workever. Workever publishes per-user pricing at £29 and £39 a user a month, runs a 30 day trial and sells its accounting integrations as add-ons. OptiTech Automation is the Workever alternative where the customer books a real slot on your own page and the card deposit is taken at that moment, on a published Stage price that holds when you hire inside your band.

The three things that make this different

Standard is £599 a month, covering up to fifteen on the tools.

  • The deposit goes into your own Stripe account at the moment of booking. We never hold your money. (Terms 2.3)
  • One flat monthly price for your Stage, and hiring inside your Stage does not move the bill. No per-lead fee, and no commission on your customers' payments. (Terms Schedule 2)
  • Leave on 30 days' notice with no exit fee, and take a full export of your data as CSV files from your own settings page, any time. (Terms 11.1 and 11.3)

The price, in the open

Workever

Workever publishes two per-user plans: Base at £29 and Ultimate at £39 per user a month, with a 30 day trial and annual billing advertised at up to 15 per cent off, though the annual rate itself is not shown. Accounting integrations are listed as add-ons rather than as part of the plan, and forms with a form builder sit on Ultimate. Verified 24 September 2026, workever.com/pricing.

OptiTech Automation

Every Stage is published in pounds. Start-up is £199 a month plus a one-off £129 Onboarding Investment. Standard is £599 a month plus £249 and covers up to fifteen on the tools. Growth is £1,749 plus £999 and covers up to thirty. Dominator is £3,599 plus £2,499 and covers up to ninety. Hiring inside your band does not move the monthly bill.

The first ten firms to come on board pay no Onboarding Investment at all, on any Stage. The monthly is paid in full, and the figures above are the figures on the pricing page, with no call required to hear them.

The price, in three lines

Standard is £599 a month, covering up to fifteen on the tools.

The one-off Onboarding Investment on Standard is £249. The first ten firms pay no Onboarding Investment, on any Stage.

Your card is authorised when you confirm your setup. Nothing is charged until you are live, after our review.

Per-user maths, the honest version

At the published Ultimate rate of £39 a user, ten on the tools is £390 a month against our Standard Stage at £599. Fifteen on the tools is £585, still under our £599. Thirty is £1,170 against our Growth Stage at £1,749. Their Base plan at £29 a user is lower again, and the annual discount they advertise at up to 15 per cent would take it lower still, although the annual rate itself is not published. So on subscription price alone Workever sits under us at every size this page covers, and we are not going to bury that in a table. If the monthly line is the decision, theirs is the smaller number. The rest of this page is about what the difference buys, and you are the right judge of whether that is worth the gap for your firm.

What they have that we do not

A 30 day trial. Workever gives you a month with the product before you pay (Verified 24 September 2026, workever.com/pricing). We run no trial at all. The nearest thing on our side is a demo with the founder and a subscription that is not charged until you go live: the card is authorised when you confirm your setup and nothing is taken until your systems are running. A month of hands-on use tells you more about software than a demo does, and we will not argue that point.

Accounting. Workever lists accounting integrations as add-ons (Verified 24 September 2026, workever.com/pricing), which is a straight way to sell them. We have none, at any price. Nothing of ours syncs to Xero, QuickBooks or Sage today, and nothing here should be read as a promise that it will. Invoices are raised and emailed when the job completes and everything exports as CSV, so the keying in, where there is any, is yours.

Electronic forms. Their Ultimate plan carries forms and a form builder (Verified 24 September 2026, workever.com/pricing). We do not sell a form builder. Photos, notes, documents and signatures are kept against the job, so a firm that runs checklists and risk assessments on its own forms would keep running them somewhere else.

And the price for a small team. Two people on their Base plan is £58 a month against our Start-up Stage at £199. A rate per seat is kinder to small teams by design, and this is one of the cases where that shows.

What the Stage price is buying

The structural difference is where work enters the business. Workever, like a good deal of this market, takes the job once you have it: quote it, schedule it, invoice it. OptiTech Automation starts a step earlier, at the moment the customer decides.

They open your booking page, pick a slot that is genuinely free, and pay a card deposit at that exact moment, into your own Stripe account. The money never touches OptiTech Automation. Auto-dispatch offers the job to the right worker with you keeping final say, the worker app that stays readable when signal drops runs the day even where the signal gives out, and the invoice goes to the customer when the job completes, VAT worked out.

Where the deposit sits

On our side the deposit is not a step in a workflow that somebody remembers to do. It is a property of the booking itself, taken by card as the slot is taken. Nobody on your team asks for it, chases it or forgets it, and people who have paid something turn up.

That is also why the Stripe account is yours rather than ours. Your customers pay your business directly, and on the day you leave the payment history stays where it already was.

One accountable founder, UK first

OptiTech Automation is built in the UK for UK trade firms: UK GDPR compliant, ICO registered, EU hosted, pounds on every page, and invoices raised on completion. It is run by one accountable founder, a sole trader, which is either the reassurance or the risk depending on what you value, and we would rather you weighed it with the facts in front of you.

Terms are 30 day rolling with no exit fees, your data exports as CSV from your own settings page, and you are live on your Build Day, confirmed in writing once your details are complete.

Honest advice

Who should stay where

Stay with Workever if

  • You are a small crew watching every pound. At their published rates the subscription is the lower one at every size on this page.
  • You want a month with the product before you pay anything.
  • You need an accounting integration or a form builder, both of which they sell and we do not.

Move to OptiTech Automation if

  • You want the customer to book a real slot and the deposit to be taken at that moment, into your own Stripe account.
  • You want a bill that holds when you hire inside your band rather than a rate that climbs with every seat.
  • The diary and the dispatch, rather than the quoting, are what take your evenings.
